MARINE BOMBING SQUADRON FOUR-THIRTEEN

SQUADRON LOG BOOK

COMMENTS:
My Dad Irving flew in this squadron. It is wonderful to see some of the pictures here and read of other relatives. We lost Dad a year ago and while he rarely spoke of his time in the service I know he was a proud Marine.

My father, Vin Rowley, was a parachute rigger in the 413th. He was only attached to them for a few months, but I am proud, and he would be too, to know that the 413th claim him as one of their own.

My Uncle Joe Baer whom recently passed served with the Flying Nightmares during WW II in the Solomon Islands. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed. He is the main reason I joined the USMC and served from '74 to '78 as an aircraft hydraulicsman. It was a delight and an honor to have been related to him. Hi,

I posted a message earlier about my late father, William E Cullum, a Navigator Bombadier with VMB413. I see that the roster has been updated since my last post and I now see him listed. I would like to hear from any squadron members who served with him during his time in the Pacific. I think it was the best time of his life.

Bob Cullum
