COMMENTS: My Dad Irving flew in this squadron. It is wonderful to see some of the pictures here and read of other relatives. We lost Dad a year ago and while he rarely spoke of his time in the service I know he was a proud Marine.

COMMENTS: I don't remember my father other than what my mother told me. I do know that Rex A Dreasher was a proud Marine and member of the 413th. Thank you for this website
COMMENTS: My father, Vin Rowley, was a parachute rigger in the 413th. He was only attached to them for a few months, but I am proud, and he would be too, to know that the 413th claim him as one of their own.

COMMENTS: My Uncle Joe Baer whom recently passed served with the Flying Nightmares during WW II in the Solomon Islands. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed. He is the main reason I joined the USMC and served from '74 to '78 as an aircraft hydraulicsman. It was a delight and an honor to have been related to him. I posted a message earlier about my late father, William E Cullum, a Navigator Bombadier with VMB413. I see that the roster has been updated since my last post and I now see him listed. I would like to hear from any squadron members who served with him during his time in the Pacific. I think it was the best time of his life.
